Simple Stroke Drill
Difficulty: Novice - Intermediate
Description: Practice Drill
Set up a striped-ball on the foot spot, with the stripe verticle and aimed straight up the table. Stroke the cue ball so that the stripe remains verticle (no side-spin) as it rolls up the table and back down to the tip of your cue (stay down on the shot, it's good practice).
You will find that this is easiest to do using a medium stroke and topspin, so that the ball begins rolling naturally right away.
As this gets easier for you, increase your speed until the ball travels the table twice.
If you wipe the ball off and chalk-up between every shot, the chalk will leave a small mark on the ball so that you can see exactly where you hit it.
Also try this same drill with draw if topspin is too easy. _________________ My City |
